1. I had a job interview at a learning center this morning...and I got the job!! It's fantastic. I'm so excited! I'm the new 2-3 year old teacher, which is a great age and I love kids at that age. Another girl was just hired, so we'll start together. :) The pay is great, there is a curriculum, and they are working on designing a schedule to follow. It feels like a very school-like environment, which is perfect for me. I start Monday, and I just have to find my TB test results, bring in my high school diploma, and make sure I'm CPR certified.
2. I was at the bank depositing my last check (I need all the $ I can get now, haha) and the teller was like "Kasi or Casey? I love that name!" I was so excited! I love when people pronounce my name correctly (Ca-see, like CAt instead of like KAY-see) and like the way it's spelled. :) I take a lot of pride in my name, I think it's beautiful. I told her no one ever pronounces it correctly the first time. She was also very sweet, considering I had been waiting for a little while to be waited on, and she apologized. I usually try to be sweet to people in service jobs, because they are obviously stressed and doing the best they can, so I should be understanding. I think she appreciated that.
3. Maddie came over yesterday, and we discussed princesses for a while. My party should be fun! Did anyone else know they have Designer Disney Princess dolls now? They are gorgeous! They're also extremely pricey, but I want Cinderella DESPERATELY. Maybe with a future check I'll purchase her ;) Haha.
Okay, I was up ALL last night reading about toddler development (I'm a nerd, yes) and tossing and turning due to anxiety, so I'm gonna take a nap. I start my job on Monday (8:30-5, yay), so please pray for me. I have great expectations of this job and the children. :)

I'm finally in a great mood! Yay for fall, interviews, Tyler Hilton, and comfy clothes!
It's September, it's rainy and chilly outside...FALL! :) Fall is my favorite season, mainly because it's just so crisp and cool, I get to wear comfy, cute clothes, I'm not always hot, I like Thanksgiving, and it includes my favorite month (November) and my birthday. What's not to love about fall?
Today has been pretty fantastic. I woke up and realized I had a voicemail from a retail store. So I checked it and they wanted to set up an interview. I called them back, and after a bit of effort, I set up an interview. Cross your fingers I get the job! I also have not given up checking daycares and other retail stores for job openings...and there were 2 daycare openings listed today. I applied to be a lead preschool teacher (I might not be eligible, but I figured I'd try...), and I'm going tomorrow before my interview to apply at the other daycare. Something has to work out! This will be my 16th (I think? Close to it, anyway) job I've applied for, and it's making me weary.
Other fantastic things: I bought our tickets to see Tyler Hilton at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville. :) 10 days!! I am so excited about this! I have missed him so much, hahaha. The tickets are always SO cheap, I love it. Plus Nashville is always a good time, and I love roadtrips with my buddies!
I found the most comfortable looking pullover hoodie from Old Navy today. I bought 2 because they were on sale! I can't wait to get them, I wanna wear them everywhere. I adore hoodies and I would live in them if I didn't look like a slob.
Those are the main reasons today was great. I also saw my grandparents yesterday, which was delightful and they make me happy. My daddy bought me more shampoo and a picture frame. Little things obviously make me happy, which is a good way to be, I think. Um...I've been working on planning my birthday party, but that's still going to take a while.
I'm going to go pick out my outfit to wear tomorrow. Prayers would be lovely, I really need a job. :)

Here are some ways my life is just absolutely ridiculous...
1. Savannah and I have a friend from high school church youth group who just had a baby. We hadn't gotten a chance to see him, so we all figured out that Saturday would work out best for all of us to go visit. She lives outside of Cynthiana, which is like an hour from my house...or so we thought. We left around 1 pm on Saturday in my fabulous Toyota Corolla, Jack. We get to Georgetown without any trouble, and we're on 62-E, heading toward Cynthiana and Paris. Savannah called Emilie to get directions to her house (because they live in the middle of nowhere and the normal route was in the middle of construction), so we have directions. Well, we get to Cynthiana, and we think we're supposed to keep going straight on 27N until we see Walmart. Um, no. Not at all. We got about 10 miles from Falmouth (where my friend Whitley is from, yay!) so we knew we were not going the right way. Hahaha. We turn around (at a barn...) and call Emilie, but she has no idea where we are. Her hubby has to tell Savannah how to get there. We find the way we're supposed to go, but we were supposed to turn right at some point, but we kept going. Well, that road suddenly said "ROAD CLOSED IN 1000 FEET" and then we realized OH CRAP THE ROAD IS ACTUALLY CLOSED AND NO DETOUR EXISTS. UGH. OUR LIVES. It's now about 2:30, so we're really a lot later than we should be. We turn around, turn left where we are supposed to, drive forever on one road, and FINALLY make it to her road. We passed her house, but she called eventually and told us she saw us pass it.
It was worth every extra minute driving though, because her son is THE CUTEST BOY EVER (besides Ryan, who is my nephew and therefore the cutest). He looks a little like a turtle, but in a cute baby way that is totally endearing! He makes the best faces, and does gangsta arm motions that make me giggle. He also slept in my arms and at dinner, so he's obviously pretty chill and awesome. :)
2. I'm at Kelliott's for the week, watching Alice. I made bread...or really I put ingredients in the bread machine and Elliott started it. I have the worst luck with bread machines. The last time I tried to use it, I thought I broke it. It was a bad time. Today I spilled coconut oil (which I don't even now if I was supposed to use, but it said extra virgin so I figured it was okay...) inside, and then flour spilled everywhere and I forgot to put the paddle in the pan. Hahahaha. I didn't even know it needed a paddle, but OBVIOUSLY IT DOES, IT HAS TO MIX THE INGREDIENTS AND DO OTHER STUFF, IDIOT. Let's all just hope that it turns out good. We're having BBQ chicken pizza! MMMM. And Alice has slept like 6-7 hours today. It's a little strange, but we just think she's growing.
3. Okay, so I have been watching MTV's Real World/RR Challenges (even though now it's not even RR challenges, ugh) since I was in high school (so...like 8 years). I have had a crush on CT (the psycho guy from Real World: Paris, and The Inferno where he yelled at everyone and ate cookies and milk like a champ) and it's never really gone away. He was back this season on The Challenge: Rivals, and he was my FAVORITE. He is actually less angry and mean, which is very awesome. He is still really scary, mostly because he kicks everyone's butt at all challenges and he doesn't put up with anyone's crap. He's randomly coming to my town (okay, I live 10 mins outside of town but WHATEVER, it's my hometown ALWAYS) in Sept to hang out with fans? SO COMPLETELY RANDOM. He's coming with my favorite girl on the shows (Katie, what up. Yeah, she's hilarious and doesn't put up with crap either, hahaha) and this dude who is from KY. Whitley's roomie actually knows that guy, hahaha. Anyway, I kinda wanna go. I'm trying to talk Savannah into coming with me, because I made her watch all the episodes with me and she likes him too. We're kinda terrified to meet him though, hahaha. We'll just have to see. I feel like it would make a good story later, especially with the two of us. We have the funniest, most random things happen when we're together.
THE END. Alice just woke up. I'm off to play with her.

I hate coming up with titles...so I'm not going to.
My dog is being a total weirdo. It stormed earlier this morning (and by "storm", I mean it rained heavily for 10 minutes and thundered ONCE), and ever since then she has been neurotic and needy. She follows me around the house everywhere, and when I try to put her on my bed so she'll stop PACING ALL AROUND MY BED, she jumps off. I have resorted to sticking her in her kennel (that we ONLY use when it's storming so she will not DESTROY THE HOUSE) which makes me really sad and I feel like a horrible person now. Good times.
She's barking now, just to let me know that she dislikes the box and would like out. Well, missy, I can't deal with your pacing anymore. I'm sorry. :(
ANYWAY. Let's talk about jobs now. Or actually, my lack of a job.
I'm still unemployed, yes. It's starting to become depressing and pathetic, instead of just relaxing and bearable. I need money, yo. I also really miss being around youngsters, since I was used to being around them for HOURS during the day. It's weird to not see a baby or a toddler or a 5th grader every few days. I've applied to Kmart, Walmart, Babies R Us, Kohl's. Those are just the retail stores...I've applied to 7 daycares and 1 nanny job. I heard back from ONE daycare, and they never contacted me again. YAY. It's all very depressing and makes me feel like I'm a total freak. They can tell just by my resume that I am weird and a loser. It's like how in elementary school they'd pick teams, and I was almost always last (I'm not athletic at all, so it was fair, but it still HURTS). Guys, guess what though? I AM AWESOME. Tis true...I am a baby whisperer. I have been told that I'm VERY good with children. I adore children. I will always chose playing with a little kid over doing something moronic with adults like going to a bar or watching sports on tv. Um ew, no thanks. There is a daycare position that JUST opened up today, so I'm really praying that I might get an interview for that one. That would be fantastic!
Here's some cheerful stuff: I'm addicted to watching Chuck. 16 episodes in 5 days, folks! I'm headed to the finish line (which is season 4), where I can watch the entire season with my lovely amiga, Savannah. :)
I get to see my dear friend Whitley tonight! We always have fun being silly together. She started grad school yesterday! I'm so proud of her.
Friday I get to see my bestie...we're going to see a movie. I hope it's Crazy, Stupid, Love actually, because I NEED TO SEE RYAN GOSLING SHIRTLESS. I mean, come on, he's crazy stupid hot.
Saturday I'm going bridesmaid dress shopping for the 1429090 time, hahaha. Then I get to go see my friend's beautiful baby boy! I am so excited, babies make me GIDDY. Woohoo!
Throw in a trip to Target and some stops at a few daycares to drop off my resume, and that's the rest of my week. :)
I meant to write a Things I Love Thursday entry, but um, I decided to vent about being unemployed and how my dog is neurotic instead. SORRY! Here's a video of Justin Timberlake as a kiddo showing us around Memphis!
I love little Justin, hahaha. His clothes are so cool. His accent is so darling! Where did you go, awesome accent? I miss you.

Things I Love Thursday, pt. 1
I thought this was a cute concept...make a blog listing things that you love. I've been feeling sorta blah today, very negative, and that's just NOT a good way to be. Life is good, y'all. So I decided I'd think of a few things I really, truly love a whole lot. It should help me perk up and start smiling. (As I typed that, I heard birds twittering away outside, and that's pretty happy...as long as I'm not trying to sleep, haha.)
1. My dogs...I'm pretty much obsessed with them.
They aren't as shaggy now, because they had fleas and had to go to the groomer. Now they look like Schnauzers and so silly. :) I love it. Marley's the only one with floppy ears, and she's the smallest one, so it's pretty hilarious. They are my babies.
2. This picture, haha. If you know me well, you know that creating this picture on Faceinhole.com is not extremely ridiculous for me to do. Also if you know me well, you know that I love JT at a very unhealthy level and he's pretty much my ideal man (besides Tyler Hilton, who is my number one crush at all times). This picture is currently my background on my computer.
Floppy hats that make me feel like Anne Shirley. Did you know that I adore Anne Shirley and I want to be her when I grow up? I just need to find my own Gilbert Blythe, somehow.
4.
*NSYNC This I Promise You video from their Atlantis Concert that I watched on tv when I was like, 14 years old. This song came up on my shuffle last night while I was going to sleep, and it was just the ~PERFECT~ song right then. I don't know why, but it made me smile and it put me right in the mood to drift off to sleep. I didn't have dreams about Justin Timberlake, sadly. This song is so beautiful. I MISS THEM, PLEASE GET BACK TOGETHER AND TOUR. UGH. I'm getting emotional, hahahaha. JUSTIN'S CURLY HAIR <3333 I miss his FACE. Okay, I'm done, I promise. They make me GIDDY.
This heart ring from Etsy (http://www.etsy.com/listing/69853495/silver-heart-ring). I think hearts are so cute! I have a heart ring that I got for making a True Love Waits vow in middle school, and I wear it constantly. This one is adorable though, and I'd love to get it for a present (hint, hint. My birthday will be coming in about 2 months!)
NEVERMIND. As I was in the process of writing this, I was also watching Road to Avonlea. Well, the episode I'm on is the one where Felix (who I relate to SO MUCH) starts his own business to SAVE MONEY TO KEEP HIS HORSE (he is WONDERFUL). His business kind of fails, of course, after several hijinks ensue. He makes a bet and goes racing off to try to SAVE HIS HORSE AGAIN (he keeps being wonderful) and the horse falls and Felix gets a cut on his head. OF COURSE THE HORSE IS OLD AND DIES. Felix is a wreck, and his dad gets there and tells him that Blackie (beautiful, old horse) didn't make it. CUE ME TRYING NOT TO SOB LIKE A BABY.
THIS IS AWFUL. I know it makes a good plot, and obviously it hits viewers very effectively but I HATE THIS KIND OF STUFF.
Nothing makes me cry like watching shows/movies where animals die. I don't care WHAT animal it is, I will bawl my eyes out. Dogs, cats, horses, LIONS, whatever. I do not discriminate. ANIMALS ARE LOVELY, and if a human happens to be attached to the animal, it's even worse.
I will not watch The Lion King because it made me sob when I was little. I was always a wreck in Homeward Bound when Shadow falls in the hole. I lost it during Fox and the Hound. I always cried during Once Upon a Time. I will not watching Marley and Me because I KNOW I will be a basketcase. My dog's name is Marley, and I'm obviously a dog person, so no thanks.
Okay, good mood over. I am going to go cuddle with my dogs now, and make them promise me that they will NEVER leave me. :( :( :(

Babies, Princesses, and some other stuff.
1. My friend Emilie had a beautiful baby boy yesterday! :) I can't wait to see him, because he looks like a little darling doll-baby. I am so happy for you, Em! You are going to be the most adorable, sweet, lovely mommy in all the world <3 I know God will bless your little family always.
2. I'm planning a Princess Party for my birthday! I have been SO bored since I am unemployed and I've been focusing on my party. :) I made a board at Pinterest for the party, and I think it'll be pretty fab. I AM SO EXCITED. I already have my dress picked out, since I'm going to be Cinderella. I need sparkly flats, white gloves, a black choker, and a tiara. I'm even making a Princess mix cd, haha. I'm such a dork. Everyone is going to be a Disney character, yay! I should have been born a princess, really.
3. Alice will be back soon from Nebraska! I have missed her so much (and her momma, I suppose. Hahaha), and I can't wait to get some Alice baby hugs :) Such a sweet little girl. I'm going to a cookout at Kelliott's on Saturday. Should be a blast. Woohoo
4. I feel kinda blah today...tummy hurts. But tomorrow I will hopefully find out more about some possible jobs, which is GREAT. I'm growing bored (a rarity, obviously. I'm so easily amused) and money would be nice. Please pray/send out good vibes that I get a job soon! Preferably one where I get to hang out with kids and teach them some useful things like ABCs and 123s. :)
5. I bought Matt Nathanson's newest album, Modern Love for $5 on Amazon. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE IT, DOWNLOAD IT NOW. $5 is basically NOTHING. You can get 5 packs of gum for that, or like less than 2 gallons of gas for that. DO IT. THE SONGS ARE AMAZING. I love his lyrics, they are basically poetry set to a melody. I am not a music writer person, obviously, but just know that he is phenomenal and I could listen to his songs over and over again without getting bored. It always means something to me. Beautiful.
That's all I have to write, I suppose. I should probably exercise because I'm a lazy bum. Ugh, I hate the Treadmill and I hate not being able to watch tv from it. Oh well...
Have a great Tuesday! Give someone a smile,
Kasi

My random trip to Wilmington, NC: Stumbling upon Karen's Cafe and finally seeing The Wall in person!
A week ago (and 1 day...), I was in Wilmington, NC. I was freaking out about seeing A WALL and I was THISCLOSE to being in a One Tree Hill scene without realizing it while wearing a bathing suit instead of a bra and undies. I was having a blast and I am sad that I'm not there anymore.
Here's my recap of it that I wrote approx. 20 minutes after walking into our hotel room last week, while watching The Challenge: Rivals the Aftershow. In case anyone was not aware, I am basically a 15 year old girl ALWAYS AND FOREVER. Vacation is no exception...in fact I'm worse than usual.

Thursday 7/28/11- 12:30 AM
We ate at the Brewery in downtown Wilmington, where I had delicious pulled pork and sweet potato fries :)
Then we walked along Market Street, and found Water Street beside Cape Fear River. It was GORGEOUS. I want to live here, seriously. We got pictures by the water and of the navel boat in the river. I found the waterfront boardwalk/pier type thing on Water Street that is used in Dawson’s Creek and One Tree Hill scenes, I believe.
We found a cute shop that sells Dawson’s Creek and OTH shirts, so I debated on buying those. Of course the OTH shirt I loved was a medium (too large) and the DC shirt I loved was a size s (possibly too small). We found the wall that Pacey buys for Joey (I think...it’s painted now and looks different, I hope it was the right wall, haha).
I fangirled a lot. We walked back over to The Village Market, and I think that was used in DC at some point. :) We randomly walked down Front Street again, and this is where it gets EXCITING.
We were strolling along and suddenly a police man told us to please cross the street since they were shooting. Suddenly we see KAREN’S CAFE aka one of the most famous locations from OTH! OMGOSH I FREAKED OUT. THere were girls on the corners watching, and I heard someone say they saw Tyler or something. TYLER MEANING TYLER HILTON AKA MY LOOOOVE. So I wanted to stay, but Rebecca was dizzy and wanted to walk to see the Cotton Exchange place. I got a quick pic of me with Karen’s Cafe behind me, then we walked down there. We saw a bunch of girls standing around, and trailers. THAT MUST BE THE FILM TRAILERS. So cool. We walked back because that area was closed, pretty much.
We stopped by Karen’s Cafe (across the street, of course) and waited. Rebecca asked some woman if she knew if Tyler HIlton was filming, she said yes. She said they were breaking around 8 (it was after 8) but she didn’t know when they actually would. We thought there were fans REALLY close but they turned out to be extras. I decided we could walk on since I looked GROSS and didn’t want to bother Tyler when he finally was finished. So we walked across the street, thinking they weren’t filming there...but as we were walking across, we heard a voice say something about ending that scene. Soooo we might have almost been seen walking across the street on OTH. Cool. Then we stopped for a few minutes, discussing what we should do...but apparently we were still in the scene, so a man said we had to walk across the street or go to some store. Okay. So I decided we should just walk back to the store with the shirts, and buy them. I bought a OTH shirt and DC shirt since that experience just happened. Rebecca got a tshirt for 1/2 off, since I bought 2. :) The store clerk told me that tons of people buy OTH and DC things, so I felt less dorky. She was very sweet and helpful. We got a picture on the waterfront together, and some awesome girls took it for us. They were wearing 23 shirts, so I asked if that was OTH related. They said yes, and so I told them about what had just happened to us. They didn’t know they were filming, so they appreciated that info. People in Wilmington are just so nice. Then we walked back to 2nd Str. where we parked, and we hit the road.
Today I found out that Tyler HIlton played some songs for fans who were waiting outside of where they were filming today. This is why I think he is such a fantastic guy. This is why I travel hundreds of miles to go to one of his shows, why I will watch literally any tv show or movie he is involved with, and why I will buy all of his music. He also happens to be an incredibly talented musician, versatile actor (he's always playing douches, so obviously he's a GREAT actor because he's the nicest guy in the entire world IRL), super sexy and gorgeous, the nicest celebrity I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, and my favorite boy in the entire world (excluding my dad, my nephew, and my dog because let's face it, they can do no wrong).
Wow, that was a bunch of rambling. I'm done, but let's just reiterate this: I love Wilmington and I want to go back immediately, I am destined to act like a dorky teenager my whole life, and Tyler HIlton is the perfect man. :)

Recipe!
I am back from vacation! I am attempting to write about the trip, but if you know me, you know that I'm a huge procrastinator and it will probably take a few days.
Today I decided to make something sweet after my dinner. I don't usually bake or cook, but I decided that today I would. I found a recipe for Pine Bark...it's a chocolatey, kind of toffee dessert. It's YUMMY. Keep in mind it was my first time making it, so this recipe might need some revamping, but I liked them.
Pine Bark
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter
1 (12 oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips or morsels OR 1/2 (6 oz.) bag if you don't have a giant sweet tooth like me
Saltine crackers
Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil on the sides and bottom. Cover the bottom of the sheet with one layer of saltines, making sure to put the salty side up. Melt butter in a pan, then add brown sugar and boil for 2-3 minutes. Pour sugar mixture over the crackers, spreading it well so all crackers are covered. Bake for 7 minutes at 400 degrees. Take out of oven and immediately spread chocolate chips over the sheet, making sure to spread evenly using a knife (it will melt). Put in fridge for an hour, then break into pieces. Enjoy!
I put mine back in the fridge after I was done eating it, because it seemed to be melting a bit. Hopefully it will be fine tomorrow. :)
It's just perfect if you're in the mood for something sweet and something salty. Perfect blend of both. Love it.

"Nick Carter is on drugs!"
(The title is a quote from Rebecca...because Nick Carter was CRAZY at the concert and kept running around everywhere, acting like a loon. IT WAS SO HILARIOUS. As far as I know, he's not on drugs. If he is, don't tell me because that would make me sad. Ok.)
Hello!
I'm getting ready to hit the road to go to my friend Rebecca's house for a sleepover. :) We're off to Myrtle Beach in the morning for a few days!
I AM EXCITED. I always miss the beach when I'm not right there in the sand and watching the waves crash on the shore. I'm a big fan of the ocean and sand and digging in the sand making sand castles and collecting seashells...not such a big fan of getting a fishing hook in my foot like that one time when I was with my family in the Outer Banks....
In other exciting news I went to see NKOTBSB on Wednesday with my best friend and her sister (also the one I'm going with to Myrtle Beach). I was obsessed with BSB before I switched teams and went nuts for NSYNC, and I still think Brian is the sweetest thing, and we LOVE boybands, so we were very nostalgic and excited and giddy. Rebecca used to be in love with Joey McIntyre, so basically we were all very crazy, haha. Rebecca found us all shirts on Ebay, and we were awesome enough to wear our (vintage) shirts to the concert. :) We're so cool.
We left around 5 to get to Louisville...we stopped to pee once, and we stopped at McAlister's to get some dinner. We played BSB most of the way there, and Rachel and I reminisced about old concerts we had been to. I miss being 12, a lot.

This is Rebecca in her old school BSB shirt that is AWESOME and VERY BLUE. :)
Rachel being excited! Woohoo
We were very nervous because we had nosebleed seats and were at the VERY TOP of the arena. SCARY
Haha, our silly picture :)
Probably taken during a NKOTB segment when I didn't know any of the words
Rebecca and I in our shirts! Love it.
Maybe I'll write about the concert another time...I'll just say that it was THE MOST RIDICULOUS CONCERT I'VE EVER BEEN TO. And yes, it needs to be stated in all caps. RIDICULOUS. I almost died from shock at least 5 times, hahahaha. So scandalous at times. But so much fun! I miss the 80s (and 90s since that was really my decade, let's face it) and boybands and being 12 years old. My childhood is disappearing.
AHHH I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE BEACH. If you want, you can send up a little prayer or something that I meet a cute Christian boy at the beach who doesn't live super far away, hahaha. :)

Books, books, books...I love books!
Happy 4th of July! What a great day to reflect on past and present soldiers who fought and even died to protect our country and allow us to live in freedom. America is blessed, and I am blessed. Thank you, soldiers.
Anyway. My day is pretty boring...okay, that's a lie. The past 2 days in general have been boring. I've been sick since Friday, but Saturday is when it really hit me. I've been holed up in my house since Saturday, watching Dawson's Creek and the Twilight movies (they were on tv, okay...at least I don't own them), eating weird food that my dad makes me (pigs in a blanket, less than 1/2 of an egg slathered in cheese...), and half-heartedly cleaning my room. I AM ABOUT TO GO INSANE. I need stimulation.
I am BORED. So I figured I'd write about the books I'm currently reading (there are quite a few...I have book ADD, I'm convinced) because I'm a book nerd and there is nothing else to do.
BOOKS I AM CURRENTLY READING:
* Water for Elephants - I started this today, actually. I bought it with the great idea to start a book club (Savannah is the only one interested it seems, and she can't find the book...) and read it slowly and ask lots of questions and really delve into it. Yeah. We'll see about that. I read 1 chapter, wrote down some thoughts, and stopped. I figure I'll wait for Savannah, or at least try to...
* Mistress Pat - This is the sequel to Pat of Silver Bush, a novel written by L.M.Montgomery of Avonlea fame. I LOVE L.M.M. She is a wonderful author. I'm stuck around page 60...it's just so long. The language is so flowery and prose-y that I get bored. I have to be in a certain mood to read this. It IS good, don't get me wrong. There's just not that much ACTION, you know.
* Gone with the Wind - This is my yearly re-read (although I'm not sure I read it last year...I started it but never finished)...I've been dragging on reading it, though. It's one of those books that I have to be in a mood to read, but once I start, I literally can't put it down. IT IS SO GOOD. Favorite book in the world, forever and ever. Yup.
* The Pillars of the Earth - I started this at the pool back during Memorial Day weekend. My friend brought a book with her, and I hate laying out with nothing to read so I started it. It intrigued me, so I found it on Amazon for like $3 and bought it. I'm less than 100 pages into it, but I'm hoping to get more interested soon.
* Eclipse - I was halfway finished with this book when I moved back home, and it's at Kelly's. So that means I'm probably finished reading it (but I've read it once before). Rebecca is letting me borrow Breaking Dawn, so I'll start that soon. I'm mostly re-reading them because I forgot how awful they are and I am reading Mark Reads Twilights so I needed to remember the suck-i-tude.
I also have a summer reading list of books I'm interested in reading and hope to get around to reading soon:
* The Giver- No, I've never read this book. DON'T YELL AT ME. I know I need to read it, and I will...someday.
* Catch-22- I don't know anything about this book, but I know it's on all of the Best Books of All Time lists, so I should read it, I suppose.
* The Poisonwood Bible
* The Hunger Games
* The Perks of Being a Wallflower
* The Handmaid's Tale
That's about all for now, but I'd appreciate any suggestions.

My nanny adventure is almost complete.
I have been living with Kelliott and Alice as Alice's nanny for 4-ish months (give or take a week here or there, haha). I moved in on Feb 20, I think, and my last day here will be Friday, July 1.
It's been a great experience. Before Kelly mentioned needing to find someone to watch Alice while Elliott worked and she went to class, I literally had nothing to do work-wise. I was babysitting once a week for this adorable boy, but it was like $40/week. That's pretty much nothing. It was driving me crazy not working at all. Also, I really like to be around children, because it's my passion and they make my day better. My mom was going to kill me if I didn't get a job soon.
I'm so glad that this ended up working out. Kelly was super busy with medical school, and Elliott was super busy with night classes and work during the day. Alice is very active, and there was no way that Kelly could do all the studying she needed if she had to watch Alice after her classes and at night. Elliott needed a job during the day. Daycare is not a good option under 1, since babies need to form a secure attachment with the caretaker.
When I started, Alice was only 10 months old. She couldn't really walk. Her favorite game was to hold her arms above her head until you did too. She could still fit in her bear suit that helped her sleep. There were countless days when the only way she'd sleep was in her suit, sweating up a storm, and not being able to move her legs or arms. Often I wouldn't be able to move, I'd have to watch movies or shows on my tv while she laid in my arms. We went to Florida with Kelly for spring break. She was enrolled in a music class that we went to every Wednesday (I only went 4 times, but she went almost every week). We went to storytime at a local library, which she loved. Hopefully we'll get a chance to go on Thursday for the last time. We went to the zoo and the park and she loves to swing, but she doesn't like the slide much. She knows so many signs, and it's easy to tell when she's hungry, thirsty, wet, or just fussy (due to teething or ear infections or growing pains). Alice is now 14 months old (closer to 15 months, though) and she can walk like a pro. She loves being outside, she loves water, and she loves loves LOVES the dogs. She will sit at the end of the hallway with a calculator and her water bottle for a long time, just talking to herself and maybe poking her leg. She claps when she does something exciting or something she's proud of. She can color, but I think she gets bored easily with that. She is in this great stage right now where she is always busy, always playing, and always grinning. She is so much fun!
I will always treasure this time that I got to spend with Alice. She is such a great little girl! :) I'm also so grateful to Kelly and Elliott for letting me stay in their home and share their life for a little while.
