You had my heart and soul in your hand and you played it to the beat.

It's my half-birthday! I love my birthday, and even though it isn't my ACTUAL birthday, I still like celebrating my half-birthday.  Haha.  Since it's also Cinco de Mayo and I'm going out with Whitley, it should be fun times.

We're going out for Mexican tonight, and I am excited.  I love Mexican food! I love celebrations! I love Whitley! I am very excitable today, obviously.  :)

I have had so many issues with printing my cover letter today.  I couldn't send it to my dad yesterday, because I have a Mac and he doesn't....so he bought a new printer last night.  Well, the printer needs a USB cord that has USB thingy on both sides.  SO WEIRD.  It didn't come with the printer...so I have to find one.  Well, we have none in our house.  I'm frustrated.  Ugh ugh ugh.  Obviously I am not meant to finish my cover letter TODAY, so it'll have to wait until tomorrow or next week.

I used the time that I could have spent sending my cover letters out packing for Memphis tomorrow.  I have a graduation outfit, a cute evening outfit (jean skirt and cute top), jeans, tshirts, shorts, cami, and lots of shoes.  Plus pjs and undies.  Yay!

Last night I went over to Whitley's, where we hung out with her roomie for about an hour.  Then we met up with Savannah at Old Chicago Pizza, where they had the same kind of pizza and I had pasta.  Our waiter was the most fantastic man ever, and I gave him a pretty good tip because he made me happy.  He was just really soft-spoken and nice, and he was really apologetic when he told me that something I wanted couldn't be made.  Savannah accidentally winked at him, hahahaha.  It was so hilarious...I was like "you're the only non-single girl at the table and YOU wink at him!" At the end of dinner, Savannah was trying to decide if she wanted to DRIVE to Target and we had some communication issues.
Savannah: Is it worth it to drive to Target?
Kasi: It's right there, so yes.
Savannah: I know, that's why I'm thinking about it.
Kasi: Well, then do it. It's RIGHT THERE.
Savannah: I know, it's right there.
Kasi: YES.  So why wouldn't you go?
Savannah: I meant DRIVE there.
Kasi: Oh...okay.  We could walk.

Hahahahaha.  It was so funny.  We were basically just saying the same thing over and over again, but I was not understanding what she meant.  We're going to be the most awesome old lady friends, we will never understand anything the other one says.

We went to Target and tried to find some clothes.  I found cute shorts for $4 and a nightdress thing for Amanda...and flipflops.  I'm addicted to buying flipflops.  I also found out that I can wear a size XL (2/3) in kids-I tried on a pair of rainboots that were that size and they were actually a LITTLE big.  I have the world's tiniest foot for a 25 year old woman.  Ugh.  We got sucked into the baby section, and I am instantly obsessed with all the little girl clothes.  At one point I was like "why are none of us pregnant?" and Savannah said "Because we're not married." Hahahaha.  So true for us...I am impressed by my ability to make any friends of mine really into babies and the baby section of any store we enter.  Savannah was very anti-babies, and it's taken YEARS but she is starting to talk about having babies one day and exclaiming over adorable baby clothes in stores.  She even holds (certain) babies willingly! I'm so proud.

We also found jewelry, and we talked about engagement rings.  We are such GIRLS.  All we do is talk about boys, engagement rings, marriage, babies, and sometimes books and tv.  I love us.

May the 4th be with you!

Happy May 4th! I always like this day because of that saying, haha.  I'm such a nerd at heart.

Today promises to be great because I get to see Whitley and Savannah! We're going to Old Chicago Pizza to eat, and then maybe we'll go browse some stores (probably shoes and books, because that's how we roll).

Last night I was trying to pick up my dog (Bixby, the male dog and my cuddle buddy!), and he freaked out because he's really skittish.  When he freaked out, his head connected with my nose and they hit each other pretty hard.  It really, really hurt.  I was actually afraid he broke my nose.  I put a cold compress on it, and I think that helped with swelling.  It looks fine, but it still hurts.  I was terrified that I'd end up with a nasty bruise on my nose because I bruise if someone even looks at me the wrong way, but there's nothing really there.  :) But because my nose hurt, I couldn't really sleep until 3 am last night.  That was pretty dumb of me, but oh well.  Can't do anything about it now...

Yesterday I also decided to try to exercise a bit more than usual.  I did Just Dance for about 30 minutes...man, that game is VERY good for your arms.  I don't know if it works other parts of my body, but my arms are always incredibly sore the next day.  Wow.  I also walked a mile on the treadmill, which usually is very hard for me to do (I'm a wuss and I hate sweating), but it was not a big deal at all yesterday.  I actually kind of enjoyed it.  I think I'm going to go walk now, before I have to get ready to go out to eat.  I'm trying to get in better shape before the wedding in (less than) 3 weeks!

I finished a cover letter today! Sadly that is the only productive thing I have done today, besides some of my laundry.

Tomorrow I have to do some potential job pursuing stuff, and then I'm going out to eat with Whitley and George for Mexican food.  It's Cinco de Mayo, I had to request some Mexican food.  :)  Friday I'm leaving for Memphis for Rachel's graduation, if everything goes according to plan.  I can't wait!

Rebecca asked me to go to a BSB/NKOTB concert with her, so we're going on July 20.  It's in Louisville! I loooove BSB, and I haven't seen them live since I was in 6th grade. :)  It should be great times...it's one of the things I'm most excited about for this summer.  I'm also going to Lake Cumberland during Memorial Day weekend with a group of girls I went to church with in high school. It should be a blast! Rachel will be back from Memphis by then, and Laura is hopefully flying up to KY to join us.  I never see Terra or Claire or Lindsey, and I miss them all.  I love weekends with great friends :)

Well, I guess I'll go exercise for a little bit while I have time.  Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

Recap of my weekend

I have been on a shopping spree the past few days.  It is potentially bad, but only if I don't stop, haha.
Friday I came home from Louisville and left to eat out with Rebecca.  We saw Water for Elephants and I ended up paying $9 because I didn't feel like digging out my student id, haha.  The movie was fantastic...I cringed at some points, but the acting was very good, the elephant was so adorable, and the writing was great.  I loved Rob's hair, it was much better than usual.  I always end up getting crushes on boys who are vets, they are just so sweet.
Saturday I went over to Savannah's, and we went to Bed Bath and Beyond to find wedding gifts.  Then we ended up going out for Chinese food with her sister, and finally Walmart...I found another bathing suit top to buy, as well as Country Strong (GARRETT HEDLUND <333) and Water for Elephants.  I am pretty much forcing Savannah to buy the book eventually and read it, so we can have our own "book club".  We need more members, so if anyone wants to join us, please let me know.  I love being a nerd and talking about books! Plus if this actually happens, there will be food and gossip, I'm sure.  :)
Sunday I watched Country Strong, and eventually went to Kohl's to buy some summer clothes (2 camis, 2 shorts that actually fit me).  Then I went to Rebecca's and we watched one episode of Veronica Mars :) That show is the BEST.  I miss it so much.  I should rewatch it. Also, I love her cat Simon.  He licks my hands all the time and wants to just cuddle constantly and he has the longest tail of any cat I've ever seen.

Tonight I visited my grandparents.  They are just ADORABLE.  My grandma told me about their honeymoon, about how she couldn't swim and he took her to a rock in the middle of the lake anyway.  How they walked up to some ranger station (?) and how far up it was.  I love hearing stories about their life.  Then we talked about our pool, potential jobs for me, their health....I really do want to be just like my grandma.  She is so happy, so optimistic, so sweet....all the time.  She's basically my role model. :)

Tomorrow I'm hoping to visit my old elementary school to see if a position is available.  I hope it goes well! Wednesday I'm eating out with Savannah and Whitley (my girls! I miss them while I'm gone!), and then Thursday evening I will hopefully hang out with George and Whitley.  I want to get Mexican since it will almost be Cinco de Mayo.  I love Mexican food! Friday I might be leaving for Memphis...if graduation is not moved, and Rachel's apartment doesn't flood.  The Mississippi is still rising, I guess, and she is not sure when she'll be forced to evacuate the island.  Very scary.  Sometimes spring makes me angry.  But if I don't get to go to her graduation, I will get to spend Sunday afternoon with my grandparents, great aunt, and parents, hopefully.  Plus Saturday is my Papaw's birthday.  :) I hate missing family events.

The one question I knew on Jeopardy tonight was about Prince Edward Island (I was only watching because it was on at my grandparent's, okay. I never watch it.)...I am such an Avonlea/Anne of Green Gables/L.M.Montgomery nerd.

I need to figure out bachelorette party plans.  It's just stressful.

Sleep time now.

Don't leave me hanging on all night to every pretty little word.

It drives me crazy when I can't think of a title.  That's why I usually just put a lyric from the song I happen to be listening to. I'm so not creative or clever.

Wow...I finally have a moment to post something.  I have lots of moments where the baby is sleeping, but lately she's been very restless and will only sleep on top of me.  Today she slept about 7 hours throughout the day...and only on me.  We think she's teething...or has an ear infection.  While she's sleeping on me, I usually just read or look at things on my Iphone.

I have a horrible headache.  I'm sure the brownies I just ate didn't help it...oh well.  We made "brownie-ish" as Kelly calls them.  They are lumpy and the sugar didn't melt and they are kinda squishy but they still taste like brownies.  Therefore I like them. :)  I'm also wearing a Tinkerbell shirt, and it doesn't smell like me.  It's weirding me out.  I'm such a 5 year old...I mean, I'm wearing a Tinkerbell shirt, I ate half a box of Nerds today, and I watched Shrek: Forever After while the baby slept.

Well, the bridal shower happened almost 2 weeks ago.  I promise I will write about it and post pictures (not that anyone cares but I'm still doing it) later.  Other than that, I've been mostly taking care of the baby and doing things with friends on the weekends.

Things going on in my life that might be of interest...
1) I finished Friday Night Lights last night.  That was pretty traumatic...I hate living in a world where shows like One Tree Hill might be renewed and America's Next Top Model is still going strong, but fantastic shows like Friday Night Lights are cancelled.  :(  Matt Saracen is now my forever dream boy.  Well, I'm not sure if he beats out Pacey Witter and Gilbert Blythe, but he's definitely in the top 3. Ugh, he's just precious.  PRECIOUS.  Tim and Tyra need to get married and make babies.  Coach and Mrs. Coach are my role models for marriage <3 I want a love like theirs.  Okay, I'm done.  I AM STILL UPSET THAT IT'S OVER THOUGH.  Just so everyone knows.
2) I dyed my hair last Friday night.  Savannah helped me.  :) It's red.  I love it...I feel like I was just meant to be a redhead.  I was actually born with red hair, but God decided to change it to some weird blonde/brown/red shade.  I have the temperament of a redhead though (maybe...) and I have the coloring of one too.  So I shall be a redhead for at least a month.

3) I have all next week off! This is very exciting.  I plan on going home on Friday night and going to see Water for Elephants with Rebecca.  Those are the only definite plans at the moment, but I'm sure I'll find other things to do.  I am going to get cracking on finding a job.  I'm also going to Memphis with Rachel's family to see her graduate from grad school!! I am so proud of her! She is brilliant.
4) My great grandbig is engaged!! I am so excited about this recent development! She is wonderful and I'm incredibly happy for her.  She deserves the best life.  Her ring is beautiful, too.  I'm kind of jealous, haha.
5) I bought a new bikini top.  It was $7.50 at Target (but I bought it online so it was actually $13 with shipping, boo).  I love it! It was the cutest one I could find that would fit me well, and it was on clearance.  I am absurdly cheap, so I couldn't pass it up.  I hope it fits.  Yay summer and swimming!
6) Amanda's wedding is in less than a month! This is craziness.  We have no hotel room for the night before, hahahaha.  I also need to figure out a ribbon for my dress and buy shoes.  Also plan her bachelorette party.  I looked for lingerie the other night...that always makes me feel awkward.  Why am I talking about this?
7) Last friday Savannah, Whitley, and I had a girl's night.  We went to O'Charley's and we luckily avoided a tornado warning...if we had been at my house we would have been terrified and sobbing in the basement. Instead we ate a lot of good food and I had a delicious strawberry colada :) It was pricey but worth every penny.
8) I'm re-reading Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin before the movie comes out.  I've got about 60 pages left and I just started it Monday.  I forgot how good the book is...it's chick-lit but I not-so-secretly love chick-lit.  You'd think I'd hate it...it involves a selfish drama queen, a type A lawyer best friend, and a really hot boy...and cheating.  But I love it! I like Emily Giffin's book in general.  SO GOOD just to read and not have to think TOO much about what you're reading.

Okay, I will post bridal shower pictures and then later a post all about WEDDINGS and my insanity at a later time.  Probably this weekend, haha.  No one cares...sometimes I feel like I'm talking to myself.  Which is just awkward...

Rambling about my day...

Today was...interesting.

I woke up last night around 1:30 am and thought I saw a mouse in my bed, near my pillow.  Isn't that crazy? I'm losing my mind.  I whimpered/yelled quietly, shot out of bed, almost tripped, and turned on my lamp to inspect my bed.  Of course there was nothing there! I am insane.

Then this morning I woke up and my eye was sore.  So I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirrow...oh yeah, my right eye was super swollen. YAY! I'm not sure if it's a stye or just allergies, but if it's a stye I can't really do anything for it except put a warm compress on it...which I did.  I took my Claritin this afternoon, but it still hurts.  I wouldn't care so much except I have to wear my glasses, I can't wear makeup, my eye is twice it's normal size, and I have a bridal shower I'm hosting on Sunday.  I look like a mutant.  UGH.

This morning Alice decided she would sleep for 3 hours...while randomly waking up occasionally.  This meant that I basically couldn't leave her EVER, to do ANYTHING.  She slept from about 9:30 until around 1...then I made sure to feed her.  She ate a sandwich (not the bread, just cheese and meat...silly baby) and some fruit.  She was acting sleepy again, and I got her to sleep around 2:30.  Of course she randomly woke up around 3 and WOULD NOT go back to sleep.  I tried for over an hour, and all she would do is cry, cry, cry, and CRY.  I mean, shrieking, tears pouring down her face, just completely hysterical.  It was so pitiful.  So I let her get up after a while, and I fed her some more food (kiwi).  I decided that I was hungry and started dinner...chicken and corn.  I have never made chicken before! It was pretty good, for the first time :)  Then I washed her up, and we went for a 1 mile walk around the neighborhood.  She enjoyed it, and I liked it...mostly. I am a moron because 1) I wore flip-flops and now I have horrible blisters on my feet, and 2) it is spring and my allergies went nuts after being outside.  After that walk, Alice wanted to play a little more and my nose was going crazy.  Kelly told me to take some Benadryl so I did...it worked but now I'm exhausted.  I think I'm writing this because I'm rambly but so tired that it's probably just nonsense.  Who cares about any of this?

I'm gonna go because I'm about to pass out right here.  Hahaha...I don't know the last time I went to bed before 11 pm.

Here's a quick, vague update on my life.

It's 11:14 pm, I'm reading a bridesmaid blog...and I was feeling pretty pathetic so I decided to write.

Wow.  I meant to write about Florida, I meant to write about all the fun times I've had the last few weekends, but I don't know what happened.  I just never actually got around to it...I'm so lazy.

The bridal shower I'm hosting for my good friend Amanda is this Saturday.  :) I hope it goes well...I am starting to get VERY stressed out.  I went to Hobby Lobby 2 Saturdays ago to buy some decorations and things...I found a few things, including a really cute special cup for her to use.  Then I went to Target with Rebecca yesterday to buy the last minute things like a table cloth and a picture frame...now I think all I need to buy is food.  I'm planning on trying to make a diamond cake- who knows if it'll turn out alright.  I'm not really a baker...haha.  I also need to find my Breakfast at Tiffany's poster that I own...it's hiding from me.  I can't wait, though.  I still need to figure out the games we're going to do exactly...and buy gifts. Geeze.  I think I've thought of everything, and then I remember something else.

Besides the shower, I'm stressing about jobs.  I am a procrastinator and I'm usually in denial so I just prefer to think about things "later".  It's really awful.  But I really HAVE to get everything together so that when jobs are listed on the internet I can actually apply and hopefully get interviews.  UGH.  I hate being an adult sometimes.  I also need to decide on what I should do if I don't get a job for next year...sub, join Americorps, try to be an aide/assistant/IA? I'm really not sure.  I just know that I NEED to work with children.

The last few weekends have been fun, though.  I went to see Riding Hood with Rebecca a few Saturdays ago...then 2 weekends ago my niece and nephew came to spend the night and I had a blast hanging out with them at my house. :) That night I went to Whitley's house to watch the UK game (we lost...it was tragic...I don't wanna talk about it, hahaha).  The next day was George's birthday party (he's 30...so OLD!) where there was a Twinkie eating contest, a music trivia game like The Singing Bee (I almost won! I need to never doubt myself...), and then there was a corn hole tournament.  I watched Alice until Wednesday, then I came home.  Thursday I hung out with Maddie and we cleaned her room, looked at a townhouse, attempted to go to a baseball game, ate at Mellow Mushroom, and then just acted goofy at her house.  Friday I got my hair cut (it's chin-length and I love it! I'm planning on dying it red sometime soon) and then I went out to eat with George, Whitley, and Savannah.  We watched Quantum Leap later :)  Saturday was Alice's 1st birthday! Savannah and I drove to Louisville for that.  It was fun, Alice got to eat her dragon cake, and I got to see some of my favorite people! Sunday I went to church with Rebecca and then we went shopping and ate some Smashing Tomato.  I love weekends, because I seem to always be with my friends.  My friends are the best, I am so blessed to have them in my life.

Ryan and Aunt Kasi...I love how grown-up he is, but I miss when he was a chubby little toddler.

Lily-pie and Aunt Kasi...she is such a sassy, sweet, silly girl.

I'm suddenly exhausted.  Maybe I'll write again later on this week...

"You'll have that..." - famous Whitley quote from freshman year :)

I'm eating bread and listening to TSwift on repeat.  I am such a girl right now but I don't care.  The baby is finally asleep, it's been a long day, my ear hurts (it won't pop and it's driving me crazy...I can't hear anything out of my right ear), and my self-esteem is non-existant right now.  (Maddie is being a doll and telling me how awesome I am, hahaha.  I have the best friends.)

I'm so thankful that my beautiful, wonderful friend Whitley is alive and well tonight.  She was in a wreck today, and she posted pictures on Facebook.  The car flipped and it looks totaled.  I know God was looking out for her, He is so good.

She is fantastic, and we're silly-heads together.  She's the only person I know who actually prays that a nice, Christian boy will come into my life and date me.  She is sweet, beautiful inside and out, hilarious, cheesy, kind, generous, dorky, wonderful, completely endearing in every way, and the world is better because she is in it.  I would rather look at funny/sappy/ridiculous cards with you than anyone else I know! Love you, Willy!

Everyone should have a friend like Whitley.
